[CoC Event] Ya-YEET [Open, 1/?]

Log-throwing, huh? Kailyn grinned to herself as she made her way to the docks. She wasn't the strongest student at Beacon by any stretch of the muscles, but what she did have she intended to use. Because where was the fun in a carnival without winning a stuffed animal or six, right?
Alright, let's do this, she told herself as she arrived at the booth. She'd start with a good stretch, though, because why bother wearing a swimsuit if you weren't gonna show off your curves, right?
"This the log toss?" she asked the jester running the booth. "What's the record?"

The Sliver Shiver here kicked his legs as he jumped into the air, watching a strongman, large and burly, heft and throw the log into the water, making a good few meters before it splashed. He wasn't one with Aura, just a big strong man! His friends around him cheered. The jester cooed and measured the distance with his eyes, mentally noting it, before a dashing redhead in a swimsuit walked up to him.
"This sure is, missy! The record for this hour is six meters by that man." He pointed at the strong man. "The distance is measured from shore to the nearest part of the log!" His head moved up and down as if to look her over. "But I have a feeling you're about to wash him out of the contest!" The jester rubbed his hands together. "Go on! Take your log and make it soar!"

Kailyn smiled. "A throw like that's not much of a contest to someone with Aura, I'm sorry to say. Though I doubt anyone else without any could make it that far." Turning a slow backflip to stretch her back (and display her curves), she picked up a log and carried it to the shore. After taking a moment to heft the log and accurately judge its weight, she did a quick calculation before tilting the log at precisely the right angle to achieve maximum distance before giving it a mighty heave.
The log continued to accelerate in a straight line along its flight path for a few seconds after it was thrown before slowly beginning to come back down. Kailyn leaned forward to watch its progress, putting one hand in the small of her back and shading her eyes with the other. "Lookit 'er go!" she declared cheerfully.
With a large splash, the log landed just under 175 meters away from shore.

Silver Shiver and the other contestants on the beach all watched Kailyn as she stretched and sent the log zooming into the air, almost as if there was no effort! The heavy man who had set the six meter record just stared slackjawed as the log soared. Sliver Shiver began laughing and collapsed onto the ground, holding his belly as he rolled. He tried to say something, pointing to the bigger man but nothing came out from behind the smiling mask besides gasps for air. To add insult to injury, a woman the man was with began laughing as well, someone obviously close to him.
The large man's face reddened and his fists clenched as this small girl effortlessly outclassed him. He began to step closer to her before Sliver Shiver was finally able to speak words. "You're really going to get mad at the girl?" He stood up somewhat shakily, still giggling mad. He mimed wiping a tear from the eyehole on his mask. "Come now, hehe! She beat you fair and square, you think you could take her in a fight?" The heavy man turned from Kailyn and began stomping towards Sliver Shiver. "Try again next hour!" The jester said, hands on his hips and looking up at the large man, his mask betraying no emotion.
"I'll make you laugh, clown!" The man said, fist raising to pummel his face in. Sliver Shiver stood there, seeming to watch the fist ready to hit him.

With a casual gesture, Kailyn lifted the man a foot off the ground with her Semblance and held him there in zero-gravity. "Y'know, I did say that I doubted anyone wivvout Aura could throw one o' them logs farther'n you did. Z'no need t'be a baby abouddit." Walking up to stand next to Shiver, she mimicked the jester's pose.
"Now, r'you gonna be nice, or sh'we find out how far I c'n throw YOU?"

The mask on the jester looked from the girl to the man and back. "Well if you did that I doubt he could swim back! Lets not torture the lad, it's not like he's done anything yet. As long as he realizes that he'll have to compete in the next hour, when I promise to keep any Huntsmen from competing, then we should be fine, yes?" He looked to the man.
The man clenched his jaw as he scrambled in the zero gravity, flailing his arms as he turned. "Alright! Fine! I'll play nice! Just let me down!"

Kailyn shrugged at the jester's words, but smiled when the man agreed not to cause trouble.
"There, that wasn't so hard, was it?" she said as she let normal gravity resume. "No need t'be embarrassed, my guy. I've kinda got an unfair advantage when it comes t'throwin' stuff." She levitated herself into a reclined position and put her hands behind her head. "See?"

The man wasn't able to catch himself as he was suddenly released. He slowly got up, saw how she was reclining in midair, shook his head and walked away. His pride kept him from answering, the way he had squealed was enough.
Sliver Shiver crossed his arms after checking his wrist for a wwatch that wasn't there. "We still have five minutes until the hour is up. Unless another Huntsmen shows you up, I'd say you're safely in the clear, Miss Kailyn." He turned his masked head to face her. "What prize would you like?"

Kailyn thought for a moment, taking a measured look at her prize options. "I want... that," she said, pointing to the largest option. Bigger was always better, after all.
Briefly, she considered staying a few minutes longer just so she could throw another log into the distance and deny the large man his prize for another hour. It would certainly be entertaining, but she wasn't that horrible of a person. She would probably head back toward the main fairgrounds and see what caught her eye next; after all, there were several other booths she had yet to see.

Rouge was silent as he watched the spectacular performance of strength before his eyes, if we’re not for the mask covering his face one would be able to see a slight look of bemusement before it faded away. Winning prizes really wasn’t the name of the game for him, so to speak. He was at this festival mainly because he needed to take a break from Beacon, just a few weeks ago he destroyed a training room and almost passed out from a panic attack. His silver robe costume billowed as he walked to the log throwing stall and slightly rose a red gloves hand covered in glass adornments.
”If it is alright with you, I would like to give it a go.” Rouge spoke with a gentle tone, eyes closed and a small smile on his face. The staff member, known as Silver, and the student wouldn’t see it until Rouge grabbed his mask and took it off revealing his slightly bronzed skin. As the mask brushed against his hair it will become very apparent this many strands of his hair is braided tightly with glass beads and two ruby studs in his ears. The first time he’s worn jewelry in a long time. “Who knows, I could be lucky.”

Sliver Shiver was holding out the stuffed prize when the masked red boy walked up. "Oh ho ho!" He jumped in the air, tapped his heels together and put the stuffed toy back on the shelf all in the same movement before landing on his feet, knuckles to his hips. "Well, you certainly can! I would love to see you give miss Kailyn a run for her money! Hurry up now, not too much time left!"
He left his booth and gestured to the lined up logs, ready for throwing. "Take your pick, sir Huntsmen!"

Rouge examined the logs in front of him and the jester in front of him. The huntsman wasn’t sure if he made the right call but he certainly was going to give it his best shot. He reached a gloved hand to his robe and began to undue the straps and then the red sash around his waist, the clothing dropped around his feet revealing the fact that all Rouge wore was a black pair of pants that were decorated with red and white markings as well as red glass plating until it reached his shoes which were also black but had red talons glinting in the exposed light. His top was a tight black shirt with the same markings and red glass as his pants except it revealed the skin on his arms is painted black. Rouge walked up to the logs and decided to choose the slightly larger one of the bunch, not because of showboating but because he was able to get a much better and stronger grip, so strong that the wood slightly creaked and splintered under the pressure.
Rouge hefted the log up on his shoulders and took a deep breath, feeling the cool air enter his nose and out through his mouth. With a grunt, Rouge sent the log soaring through the air and across the water, and to his surprise a glass claw tore from his glove. And Rouge wasn’t letting an opportunity like this go to waste. It’s arc was almost perfect and there was absolutely no wobble as it passed one hundred yards and Rougeks concentration was maxed out, never has he controlled an object with his impaled into it and never even had glass this far out. As it neared one hundred fifty the was a decline as the glass claw fell out of the log causing all of it’s momentum disappearing and it plummeted. Splashing at one hundred and seventy four yards. ”Thats gonna be a close one.”

Kailyn watched as the young huntsman hefted a log of his own and sent it flying nearly the same distance that she had with the same exaggerated pose that she'd made while watching her own throw, letting out a long descending whistle as the log sailed away.
"Nice toss, my guy!" she called out with a wide grin as it landed. "I think you're a couple yards short, but you've DEFINITELY beat that guy." Tossing a thumb in indication at the strongman, she stretched lazily before looking at the jester. "Do we both get the prize, or do we gotta toss 'em again?"

The Jester was animated while he watched, one hand on the brow of his mask to shade his eyes, torso leaned all the way forward while one foot stretched straight backward for counterbalance. Silver Shiver was still the whole while, never shaking or teetering, as he observed the flying log until it crashed into the sea, just short of Kailyn's log.
He straightened up as if he was a machine, leg and torso perfectly mirroring each other until he stood erect. He hummed while he contemplated Kailyn's question, the chin of his mask in his hand and a forefinger tapping the side of his head. Then he froze, his finger stopping mid-tap. His head turned to look around, and seeing no other Sliver Shivers, he silently tip-toed as if he was in a cartoon, all high knees and lifting his feet far more than he needed to, back to his booth. The smile on his mask may have gotten wider, somehow, or it was a trick of the sunlight beating down on the pale surface.
He put his hands on the counter and leaned over it conspiratoraly towards the two. "I'm not allowed to do this, and if you rat me out I'm calling you both theives." He pointed a finger at them both. "But take your pick, both of you. Quickly, before others come to see!"

With a casual gesture, Kailyn floated the prize she'd been in the process of collecting when the young man had shown up into her waiting arms. "Ain't gonna catch me arguin' with THAT," she said with a bright smile. She had just enough time to zip the stuffed prize back to her dorm before heading for the other booths, or she could tag along with the new guy wherever he went next.
"I haven't done the other booths yet. You wanna come with?" she asked the black, white, and red stranger.

Rouge gave a shrug to the masked man, though he did give a closer look at him since he swore that the mask’s grin seemed to grow. It was strange but he wasn’t going to question it as he pointed at the miniature stuffed Nevermore and received it. Rouge gave a smile before sliding the mask over his face and as he walked over to his discarded robe, the costumed student heard the request to join along with her and going to more booths. He was taken aback a bit from the request, still not used to people asking him to tag along despite them not knowing who he is.
However, he gives a nod and places the stuffed Grimm in his sash. “Sounds like a good time, I would be happy to join.” Rouge said as he slid the rob over his body and tying the outer sash tight across his waist. “Though apologies in advanced when people look at us strange. This outfit has unfortunately caught a bit too much attention.” He brought a gloved hand up slightly so he could focus on it, specifically it was the one missing a glass claw, and suddenly another grew to replace it.

Kailyn fist-pumped at his affirmation of companionship and sidled up to stand next to him as he replaced the missing claw. "I doubt you've drawn any more attention than I have, what with my absolute refusal to obey gravity and all." To illustrate her point, she made a handstand, pumped her arms to push herself about a foot in the air, and hovered there, upside-down and rotating slightly. "This is my preferred method of transportation, after all." Pulling the enormous stuffed beowulf off the counter to float next to her, she returned her attention to her new companion, realizing that she had absolutely no idea what his name was.
"I'm Kailyn, by the way," she said, floating up a little and holding out her hand.

Rouge watched be listened as she explained her reason to draw attention and he gave a quizzical look under the mask, he remembered someone from a months back with an ability very similar. Then he remembered, it was back when that casino flyer was posted on the bulletin board and she was the female student floating around a bunch. She then introduced herself and held out her hand to the musician which he grasped softly and gave a shake. She probably doesn’t recognize him with his outfit and the body paint so it doesn’t surprise him, what did though was the large stuffed creature float over to her. ”Hello, Kailyn. It’s nice to meet you again. Im Rouge.” He didn’t mind if she didn’t recognize him currently, or at all since their last meeting was brief.
“What attraction or carnival game would you like to go to next? I’m positive there is something we can enjoy.” He asked as he pulled away his hand and glanced over at the long line of stalls, games, and the other areas that are within the festival.

He was taking this remarkably in-stri- OH. Right. Duh. They’d already met, however briefly. ”Nice t’meetcha all official-like.”
That was a good question. What DID she want to do? ”Hell if I know, my dude. I was thinking I’d float on up there and see what looks fun?” She shrugged and rotated on her axis once before slowly floating backward toward the main fairgrounds, spinning to be upright again so as to more easily converse with Rouge as they went.

He gave a nod in agreement and watched as she floated well above his head but still within earshot to continue their conversation. Rouge was impressed with her control and relatively lack of effort when it came to using her semblance, he guessed either she worked on it when she was very young constantly or the semblance was effortless in general. ”It’s a pleasure to have an official conversation as well. So what has brought you to the festival? It couldn’t just be the games and prizes?”
As he spoke he came across a ball throwing stall and a weight guessing one as well. The festival certainly has an event for anyone and everyone. “How about some more throwing events since we happen to be pretty good at it?”

"Why can't it just be the games and prizes? I like games and prizes." Kailyn gave a light huff that quickly degenerated into a bright smile. "F'real though, my dude, I'm not really that complicated. I float, I kill Grimm, I eat tacos, I like fluffy things. Honestly."
At his suggestion to just continue to toss things around, she chuckled. "Sure thing - though I'm honestly not that great that tossing things with speed AND accuracy using my Semblance. Too much in too short a time for this ol' thing." she poked her head a couple times to indicate her brain. "If'n I wanna put anything in a specific place, I'd rather do it slowly. If I just want it outta my way, I don't have to bother with placement or cancellation or the like. I can just give it a shove, and then gravity does the rest. Literally," she added with a chuckle, "because that's what my Semblance does: alter gravity."

”I always thought people went to these kinds of events for other reasons but I guess I’m wrong, and I was also wrong about assuming people. Truth be told, this is my first ever festival and I wasn’t sure what to expect.” Rouge plucked out a bag from his baggy clothing to reveal a clear plastic bag filled with kettle corn, something he bought on his way over to the game stalls. He held up a hand and the glass claws crumbled away so that he could safely reach into the bag without piercing the plastic or catching the kettle corn on them. “Would you like some?” Rouge asked and lifted the bag her way as an offering to not feel bad for hogging the food.
Rouge walked along and listened as she explained why she wanted to only do certain events and it made sense for her semblance which was incredible. The ability to alter gravity is something that could be incredibly useful for the student huntress whenever she goes to the field. Being able to prevent collapsing buildings or tunnels to some degree, recon and stealth. Rouge admits to himself that she could cover so much ground with just her semblance. “That’s an incredible gift, I must say that I’m almost jealous. To have such a supportive semblance must make you a great asset for you team.” That’s when Rouge stopped at a ring toss stall and saw possibly the largest stuffed Ursa he’s ever seen, easily the size of some of the smaller students walking around them. ”How about that game?”

Oooooh, here was the perfect chance to practice her Semblance! "I will literally NEVER turn down free food, my dude," she said as she focused on moving exactly three kernels of kettle corn. "Even if I don't like that particular food, there's usually someone else somewhere who's willing to trade it for something I do want."
That was... a surprisingly insightful comment about her Semblance. She'd never thought about it as being supportive of others before - I mean, sure, she'd used it to help others out, but a lot of those times it had been incidental - deflecting a Grimm mid-jump, adding a slight gravity assist to an attack, and so on. Most of the more direct applications she'd really only used on herself until now. She'd have to experiment with using a lot of her self-targeted adjustments with referential geometry: the applications could be SO COOL....
Wow, she was going down a rabbit hole. She shook her head to clear it, then noticed that she'd apparently autopiloted an entire handful of kernels to herself rather than the smaller number she'd intended. Not horrible, since she could play it off as her intent, but she really should find ways to practice moving specific small objects more often. "I'm a little jealous of yours, too," she commented as she cupped her hands under the kernels and reverted their gravity. "You can probably make some wicked awesome art with it, which you could totally use as a chick magnet downtown. If I wanna pick someone up, I don't have anything flashy like that - though I do have a few parlor tricks of my own that don't involve floating myself or others around." She popped the last few kernels into her mouth and dusted her hands against each other as Rouge pointed out a ring toss game. "I could always use a second enormous Grimm plushie. Or I could win you one," she added, flashing him a smile as she touched down and let the Beowulf land gently in front of her.

”You certainly have a particular view of the world. I don’t believe many would exchange free food for something they would enjoy more. It’s refreshing almost.” The costumed student said with a smile under his mask. It was completely true, he doesn’t believe he has met someone who was so optimistic and… well floaty about anything. It seems the theory of semblances and personalities being connected may have much stronger roots than Rouge initially believed. Though how could he? Would that mean he is as fragile, as sharp, or as dangerous as his own glass?
The musician shook his head a bit to rid his mind of those negative thoughts and through the sockets of his mask he watched a ball of kettle corn float up into the air and towards Kailyn. From the looks of it she seemed to do it purposefully, but Rouge suspected she may have been in as deep of thought as he was just moments ago. She then spouted that she was jealous of his semblance, which to say the very least caught him off guard. “No yo-“ before he could fully start, she has already went on a tangent of how he could create art, or become a chick magnet (which Rouge has never heard of before, and thought of him attracting baby chickens sooner before attracting women as Kailyn initially meant) “You do have have something to pick someone up though, literally. Also, I’m not so sure I could do all of what you say I can do. I can create art and such but it’s too fragile and far to dangerous to do anything spectacular.” As he said this he rose a hand with his palm facing upwards and concentrated on it.
Green glass slowly formed into place and floated above his palm, it grew long and thin, occasionally sprouted off with a few leaves until it reached about eight inches. Red glass then came from the naked end of the green stalk, creating rose petals over and over again until in his hand was a glass rose. “It might be beautiful but unless I put much more energy into it, the rose will only stay intact as long as it’s near me or until I’m depleted.” The rose then floated on its own as Rouge took his hand away from it, and the musician turned his attention to Kailyn as she offered to win him a prize, a nice gesture but Rouge was in the mood to play too. “Thank you for the offer, but I’m going to be the one who wins us a stuffed Ursa.” Rouge’s clawed hand carefully reached to the eye sockets of the mask and he removed it to reveal the soft smile on his face.

Kailyn was just as mesmerized by Rouge's glass art this time as she'd been the first time she saw it. At his mention of the glass' integrity being suspect when not close to him, she decided to find out just how long she could keep it together - if she could make it back to her room with it, she might be able to find a way to keep it forever. So she waited for it to float a little away from him (it seemed that his creations could also float a little) before catching it in a zee-gee bubble.
Then he stepped up to the game with a smile and an intent to win a prize, and who was she to interfere? Okay, let's be honest, she totally could make every single one of his tosses miss if she felt like being a jerk, but she'd only do that to her brother. Probably. Maybe. Definitely wouldn't do it this time - not with the glass rose to focus on.
"Go get 'em, m'boy!" she said, bowing out of the way.

Rouge gave a smile as he neared the stall currently manned by one of the many jesters running the festival. The jester gave a wave and held up three brass rings in his hand and with some slight of hand, he played with the rings and occasionally making them disappear and reappear in his other hand. ”Three shots and three different prizes. Make all three, you’ll have the biggest one. Two gives you a slightly smaller stuffed creature. And with only one you’ll receive a small toy. Also, there is a few bottles with gold necks, those give you something a bite extra. Ready to give it a shot?” The jester leaned against the wood of the stall, the rings falling from his hands and rolling until the rested in front of Rouge.
The clawless hand reached forward to grab one of the brass rings, he inspected the ring and weighed it carefully in his hand and determining if there were any intentional faults with it. The only faults were the occasional dents and scratches that more than likely came from repeated use, Rouge felt confident he could either win this with or without help. Holding it firm between his index and thumb, the musician eyed the rows of steel bottles that laid before him. There were four golden necked bottles and Rouge chose the furthest one as his target. He tossed the brass ring into the air and watched as it flew into the sea of bottles and without much time in the air, the ring came falling down onto the neck of a normal steel bottle, three away from his target. ”Huh.” Was the only response Rogue could give when the jester began to laugh with manic joy. So he tossed his second one, at the same target, and as it came down it wobbled a bit in its last moments before landing over the neck of another normal bottle.
Rouge gripped the last ring and a clear coat surrounded a small portion of the ring before he threw it, and as it flew he gave a little tilt with his head and the ring didn’t wobble or move in the air this time. Only half a foot away did it scrape by what looked like very think string, without Rouge’s interference it would’ve disrupted his throw but It flew straight and downwards onto the neck of the golden bottle. The sheen of the coating fragmented and dispersed into nothingness before they could be grabbed.”Wow! We got a winner! Good for you to see the string.” The jester spoke the last bit quietly as he walked over to the prize pool. ”Alrighty, so I assume you’re giving the choice of gift for the lass. For the golden bottle we offer one of three. A griffon, a Manticore, or a Sphinx” The jester asked while pulling out the three, ridiculously, large stuffed Grimm. Those rose on the other hand grew denser and the colors became more vibrant and full, and Rouge’s shoulders shifted a bit. He made it a permanent glasswork, something he has done twice so far for students he just met this year which resulted in two very different creations. A dagger and now a rose.

There was definitely something rigged about this game, Kailyn realized as only when Rouge subtly applied his Semblance to the ring did it land on the golden bottle. What was in the way, fishing line? That would make sense. Now, could she pick it out with her own Semblance? Yes, she could. Okay, here was another unexpected chance to practice. Could she single out a specific section of it? Okay, yes. Now, to give it a severe gravity pull right in the middle, up and away from the bot- oh, it broke. Niiice. She smiled.
Realizing that the choice of prize had been left up to her, she pointed at herself with both hands, looking surprised. "Me? Y'sure?" She took a moment to think, then settled on her choice as an absolutely brilliant prank idea came to her. "The griffon, then. That way it can carry me home." She smiled at Rouge as she accepted the prize, then looked around for the rose. It looked a little different - probably just a trick of the light. With a kick, she brought the Beowolf up and caught it, placing it on the Griffon's back before placing the Griffon on her own shoulders. Looking around, she spied a strongman game. "My turn t'win you something," she said, pointing at it and setting off toward it, the rose floating close behind her.
