Physical Description:

Right-handed. Ectomorph body type, though strongly trained to be more flexible and quick in battle, due to long-range weapon at disposal. Able for hand-to-hand combat. Skills of aura interaction are pretty average though.
He has a scar on the left cheek – some shard of the bullet flew into the Alexander face on the shooting range.

Outfit Description:

Usually wears dark clothes, with the dense glove on the right hand for revolver, but loves to wear a brown denim overcoat, that covers his hip holster and waist bag. Stands out a leather belt with a plaque on which his personal emblem is engraved.

Personality Description:

Shurik used to be cocky and closed for others, often behaving in "cowboy style", but not too much. He is a little impatient, even may be aggressive sometimes, but very observing, trying to quietly analyze everything important he sees and hears. With that, he mostly driven by own logic and rationality, able to going against some rules that he doesn't find competent or righteous.

He may seem to do things only for his sake in the first place, but inside he is wounded by father absence, and doesn't know who can be his mentor figure for now. His wish to become the hunter can be compared to try to cope with loss of parent figure, and at the same time he wants to become equal to the father at skills, so somehow he will find him. He has a sense of justice and honor, that buried under the harm from loss.

Backstory Highlights:

Alexander Kate was born in Atlas on September 16th. He was the son of a hunter named Andrew Kate, who had troubles with Atlas's law at the moment of young grow of Alexander. This was the reason of moving to the Vale, where parents and grandfather (gunsmith after retiring as a huntsman) were working.

While growing, it's seems that Alexander gained father's intellect, and it was a particular reason why Alex was not interested in school much, and was spending his time with own doing, and one of those was mechanisms, even taking some of the defective weapons from grandfather's workplace to dismantle. Grandfather saw the potential of Alex to become a huntsman with his intellectual abilities, and at age of 14 Alexander was learning how to handle some weapons at that time. He also wanted to draw some attention of the father, because of how busy he was at hunter stuff.

At age of 16 Andrew Kate was missing since his last hunter operation, after he was titled as outlaw. Apparently, it can be related to Atlas's troubles in the past. Unknown, if he is dead or not, what was the last push for Alexander to become huntsman at Beacon Academy. He changed his name to Shurik, and started to frequently study what huntsmen usually learns, and also training harder his fighting skills.

At the age of 17 Shurik passed to the Beacon Academy, not with his aura and (absent) semblance, but rather due to his combat performance and high intellect.

Semblance Description:

Visual appearance: jet-black lightning with white outflow.

Phase Dash: Gives ability to save speed of movement and use it for the aura dash in any direction, that shifts user in the subspace, that invisible to others, going through any physical objects that user dashes through on short distance (max. around 6 meters). After that, user shifts out. Max. time in subspace is 2 seconds.
If the user appears to be stuck inside the objects, he will be pushed out of the surface quickly.
If Semblance is used while standing, the user will appear in 2 seconds at the same place.

Phase Bullets: Apparently, user can affect the carried gear. For instance, sending phasing energy to the firearm, user can shoot subspaced projectiles, that will appear only on the user's command on any trajectory distance. If not, they will appear in 10 seconds after the shot.
Unlike Phase Dash, bullets will get stuck inside the objects in which they shifted out.

The usage of Phase abilities will be very exhausting, if use is unwise.

Weapon Description:

A semi-auto revolver, originally by Michael Kate – Shurik's grandfather.
The revolver has 7 chambers in the cylinder for .22 Long Rifle bullets.
Recently, was enhanced by "Dust-boost" mechanism, hidden in the upper part of the gun's barrel. With it, bullets can be shot with elemental energy, using capsuled Dust crystal. Activates by pulling the hammer twice, so the upper barrel's part will open up, exposing the mechanism for Dust crystal usage.

Other Gear:

Waist bag. Contains bullets (.22 LR) for Advocate and other gear.

Mechanical grappling hook. The name is self explanatory. Sometimes you have no ground to stand on, eh?

Fighting Style:

Usually Shurik avoids close-range combat, but if that happens, he tries to use limbs and weapon altogether for efficiency, sometimes using his gun as an improvised baton with, of course, some help of aura.
Fighting style based partially on Muay Tai.

Strengths:

Agility and speed with advanced abilities as a ranged fighter; though he's not a pushover, he has less experience in hand-to-hand combat with and without weapons; aura mastery is currently slightly higher, than average in academy; very observing, almost paranoidal; clever, quick thinker with some tactics for possible events at the battlefield; can't be easily influenced emotionally.

Weaknesses:

Doesn't possess extraordinary strength; can be a trouble in teamwork because of own stubbornness; may be rude in address of others; currently doesn't has the Semblance.
